On Monday, July 3rd (PST), a panel session about "Miru" was held at Anime Expo 2023. 

The panel featured a presentation by the animation's production team and a live drawing by YKBX (art director, illustrator, character designer and concept video director for "Miru" key visuals). 

First, Akihiro Nagaya, CBO of Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd., and Brandon K. Hill, Founder & CEO of btrax Japan LLC, who are collaborating on the project, opened the session with a discussion about the background and inner workings of the Miru production. 

They discussed the impetus behind the launch of the animation project, their thoughts on the production of the animation, and the secret story behind the creation of the robot design, which was drafted by the Design Office, Branding Division, Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd.

In the live drawing session by YKBX, which took place during the discussion, visitors were able to see the illustration gradually being completed on a screen set up at the front of the room. 

The completed drawing is shown here. Notice the sharp lines of the robot contrasting with the soft features of the girl. Bold shades of red add a striking touch of color to the background and hair color of the girl.

The panel session was a great success, and we were thrilled to share "Miru" with so many people by exhibiting at such a large anime event as Anime Expo 2023.
